M. Tech in Autonomous Electric Vehicles

Overview

The Electric Vehicles market is expected to grow at 40% annually in 2020-2027. There are new players entering into the market every day from e-bike makers to Level-3 autonomous electric vehicles. Realizing a completely electric ecosystem for automobiles involves work on the power train, the motors, batteries, charging stations, and the associated power electronics. This value chain is expected to reach USD 5 billion by the year 2025.
At the same time, the market for adding intelligence and connectivity to vehicles is also expected to grow at around 50% annually. Connectivity and intelligence are crucial to achieve a fully autonomous vehicle. Work on this involves the knowledge of sensors, embedded computing systems, vehicular communication, and AI algorithms for decision making. With the burgeoning automobile market and the surge into Electric and Autonomous Vehicles, it has become imperative for engineers to be knowledgeable in these interdisciplinary areas. The proposed M. Tech. program on A-EVs is aims to achieve this.
