About Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department:

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is very active in the key areas of design, manufacturing, robotics, thermal engineering, solid propellant combustion modelling with significant research programs and facilities. The department runs three undergraduate programs (B.Tech.) in Mechanical, Mechatronics and Aerospace Engineering; three postgraduate (M.Tech.) programs in Robotics, Computational Mechanics and Systems Engineering  along with Ph.D. program.

About the Research Grant:

Very Recently, the department has received a research grant from Ministry of Défense to conduct the cutting-edge research in the area of heterogeneous solid propellant combustion modelling. The research will be jointly carried out with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. The duration of the research grant is for three years and likely to be extended further. The department is seeking applications from eligible candidates for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for carrying out research under this research grant. The candidates will be selected based on personal interview.

Qualification

  • B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering.
  • Candidates should have programming skills.
  • Candidates should have good research aptitudes
  • Candidates are encouraged to pursue their Ph.D.

Job Description: 

  • Will conduct research in solid propellant combustion modelling under the supervision of the project investigators.

Salary:

  • At the present rate, JRF’s will be paid a monthly remuneration of Rs. 37000 with 16% HRA, totaling Rs. 42920 p.m. After two years the JRF will be considered as Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and will be paid Rs. 48720 with 16% HRA.
