Buchepalli Rilasa Reddy, first-year undergraduate student picked up by Coastal Riders at the Andhra Premier League
Buchepalli Rilasa Reddy, first-year undergraduate student of Journalism and Mass Communication at Mahindra University, is also an outstanding cricketer who had brought laurels to the institution before. And now, in breaking news, Rilasa was picked up by Coastal Riders at the Andhra Premier League for the ‘cap’ bid of Rs 2 lakh.
A top-order batter, Rilasa has been playing cricket since the age of eight and has regularly participated in major tournaments held across the country. Rilasa learned to play cricket at Faiz Cricket Academy in Kondapur, Hyderabad.
Having bounced back into the Andhra Premier League, he will compete against other teams in the 6-team League. This cricket league is played at the Vizag cricket stadium in Visakhapatnam.
“I am happy to have been picked up at an auction. I have always wanted to be a cricketer,” Rilasa said.
Soft-spoken and athletic, and son of Telugu actor Buchepalli Kamalakara Reddy, Rilasa is not just an avid cricketer, but straddles the academic side with top grades.
