Mahindra University Students develops groundbreaking solutions at WATCH Hackathon
We are proud to announce that a student team from Mahindra University has secured the first runner-up position in the prestigious “Weather and Climate Hackathon” (WATCH) competition.
Our students Cherith Reddy Yerabolu, Geethika Choudhary Yadlapalli, Monisha Kollipara, and Sri Dhruti Tikkisetti — presented two groundbreaking solutions:
Terra Tide: A tool for heatwave prediction, preparedness, and public participation.
Vaayu Sudhi: An innovative solution to optimize green infrastructure and combat air pollution.
The team was guided by Dr Surekha Tetali, Assistant Professor at the Centre for Sustainability.
The event was hosted by the US Consulates at Hyderabad and Mumbai, The Bronx Community College, City University of New York, and KISS Bhubaneswar. The event challenged participants to address their main theme, Heatwaves, and the surprise theme, Sustainable Cities. Our students bagged attractive cash prizes for both rounds.
