Dr. Jayaprakash Vemuri is an Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at Mahindra University École Centrale School of Engineering.

Dr. Jayaprakash did his Ph.D. in Earthquake Engineering from Indian Institutue of Technology, Hyderabad. His research interests include characterisation of strong ground motions, generation of synthetic ground motions, nonlinear time history analysis of structures and seismic risk assessment.

Dr.Jayaprakash Vemuri received the Certificate in University Teaching and Learning from the University of Western Ontario in 2017. He has also received the Certificate of Research Excellence from IIT Hyderabad for four consecutive years 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. He was awarded the Notre Dame CEGEOS Fellowship by the University of Notre Dame in 2011.

He was awarded the Certificate of Merit for Mathematics, Central Board of Secondary Education in 2000 and the Merit Certificate in the Mathematical Olympiad by the Atomic Energy Commission in 1998. He has over 50 publications in international journals and conferences.
